Terminating telephone lines in house, new construction?
I’m running telephone lines in my new house using CAT5e cable. I have RJ45 keystone jacks in each room for the telephone. What do I terminate the other end to so I can connect all the telephone wires together? Something like a punch-down block? Please give example of what I could use to connect them (like a model of a block I could use). Please don’t say wire-nut the wires together, I want something neater than that, more professional looking.
Is a terminal block the right way to terminate CAT5 though? I know they used them in old 4 conductor phone wire, but what about 4 pair twisted pair wire?

Can i run internet cat5e cable next to a few power lines?
I am running some cat5e up to a new addition in my house and we didn’t think to run it before we put the drywall up. The only access point is through a ~1 inch hole through some boards that were originally drilled for power lines. I can squeeze the line through, but I am worried that it may cause interference with the signal. The wires are only going to touch for about 1-1.5 inches and seperate after. Am I ok, or should I just use wireless (which would be alot weaker of a signal than wired)?
